You don't really have to tag me, tbh.Fwiw, NetworkManager nowadays defaults to its internal dhcp client implementation (based on sd-network), isc dhclient is only a fallback (unless configured explicitly). So dhcpcd5 being available in a newer version would be nice but is not a pressing issue for NetworkManager itself.
See also man NetworkManager.conf
dhcp This key sets up what DHCP client NetworkManager will use. Allowed values are dhclient, dhcpcd, and internal. The dhclient and dhcpcd options require the indicated clients to be installed. The internal option uses a built-in DHCP client which is not currently as featureful as the external clients. If this key is missing, it defaults to internal. If the chosen plugin is not available, clients are looked for in this order: dhclient, dhcpcd, internal.
Fwiw, this is the reason why isc-dhcp-client was first demoted to Suggests in network-manager and has been dropped completely in 1.32.12-1.
Regards, Michael
