Hi,
Hello Andres,
thanks for your prompt followup!
I was unfortunately unable to reply earlier than now.
Thanks for the bug report. Can you please start chromium from a terminal
and then go to your videoconferencing site and see if there are any
error messages that it outputs?
Well, I can try to upgrade again and redirect the stdout/stderr to a
file.
But, to be honest, I am not sure how much it can be useful: I always
start chromium from a terminal and it usually spits out a lot of
warnings/errors, and this happens whatever I do.
Please do. If it's unable to open the device for some reason, it may
output a very useful error message - even if it's hidden in tons of
other messages. Also, now I'm also curious what other messages you're
seeing on the terminal, since I only see 3 different messages when I
start up chromium and start a Jitsi meeting. :)
Also, is it multiple videoconferencing sites, or just one? I just tried
https://meet.jit.si with the new chromium version, and the mic worked
for me.
This surprises me a lot.
I tried with <https://meet.jit.si> and, sigh!, with
<https://meet.google.com>
They both were unable to use my mic, until I downgraded to
chromium/93.0.4577.82-1
And just to be clear, this works in other browsers, right? If you start
up firefox-esr and go to https://meet.jit.si/, the mic works? I know you
said that it works with chromium 93, I just want to rule out that it's
not due to building against a newer version of some library.
