Package: libjpeg-turbo-progs Version: 1:2.0.6-4 Severity: normal File: /usr/bin/cjpeg
Dear Maintainer, It seems the behavior of cjpeg has changed for PGM (grayscale) input file. It would be nice to revert to old behavior where single component (grayscale) PGM input result in JPEG file with single component. Steps: $ convert -size 512x512 -depth 8 xc:black black.pgm $ cjpeg -outfile black.jpg black.pgm $ file black.jpg black.jpg: JPEG image data, JFIF standard 1.01, aspect ratio, density 1x1, segment length 16, baseline, precision 8, 512x512, components 3 -- System Information: Debian Release: 11.1 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable-security'), (500, 'stable-debug'), (500, 'proposed-updates-debug'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.14.0-0.bpo.2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU threads) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_US:en Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages libjpeg-turbo-progs depends on: ii libc6 2.31-13+deb11u2 ii libjpeg62-turbo 1:2.0.6-4 ii libturbojpeg0 1:2.0.6-4 libjpeg-turbo-progs recommends no packages. libjpeg-turbo-progs suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
