Package: vlc
Severity: important

Hello. The current stable version of vlc is 0.8.4, which seems to be
unpackaged for etch _or_ sid. I understand that because it was released
after sarge, 0.8.4 is, of course, not in sarge but why is it unavailable
for etch? I see that a more bleeding edge version "0.8.5-test3 beta"
has been packaged for sid, which is nice, but I believe it to be
somewhat poor to have the only available versions of a package be
"fairly old" and "bleeding edge beta". Furthermore, I tried to install
the build-deps for 0.8.5-test3 beta, and recieved the cryptic:
``E: Build-dependencies for vlc could not be satisfied.'' Of course,
this may be a completely seperate issue.
