As your online version https://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/dings.cgi?service=de-en&opterrors=0&optpro=0&query=Monat&iservice= is correct, it is unclear to me who is the culprit: dict, the dictionaries your distribute, or the interface between the two.
I manage the Beolingus database – https://dict.tu-chemnitz.de/deutsch-englisch/Monat.html
and the database for ding: https://ftp.tu-chemnitz.de/pub/Local/urz/ding/de-en/ Both contain: Monat {m}; Monat {n} [Ös.] [ugs.] month /mo./ /mth/I'm afraid I don't know how fd-deu-eng converts the "ding database" to the freedict format. I assume there is an omission to include [ugs.] (umganfssprachlich = colloquial).
