I created a new user on my system, started gnucash for the first time
selecting EUR as currency, and using the minimal set of accounts. When
loading a .ofx file I still get the same behaviour as before. You can
fetch a "minimal" .ofx file I used for tested here:

Note that maximizing the window does not help in any way. Thanks for
