Thanks! I've now tested this process with gnucash 1.9.5 (as in Debian
experimental) and I believe it is fixed - the dialogue has been revised.

No problem! I think this bug is now fixed-in-experimental and I've
tagged it as such. It means that the upcoming gnucash 2.0 release will
include the fix for this bug.
