Package: digikam Version: 0.8.1-3 Severity: important
The bug sure is important - the main feature of digikam is to look at pictures in albums - and that fails. All I get is a black window when trying to view my jpgs. :-( It was even worse when I had dcraw on the system. I would click on a jpeg, and for some strange dark reason dcraw would be started and just sit there consuming lots of cpu. Yes - there are raw images (.x3f files from my sigma SD10) in the same directory. But digikam isn't set to display .x3f files. So why the _hell_ invoke dcraw then? dcraw is way too slow for displaying these pictures anwyay. And I weren't even clicking on a .x3f file, I clicked on a .jpg . . . Uninstalling dcraw helped in the sense that it is no longer invoked. I still only get a black window, but at least I can use the arrows to change from one black picture to the next. :-/ My album directories contains .jpg and .x3f files that have the same name except for the extension. I tried moving the .x3f files to another directory in case this confised the new digikam. But it didn't help, I still only get black screens. Now using xloadimage/gimp to view images. :-( -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (800, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.16-rc6-mm2 Locale: LANG=nb_NO.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=nb_NO.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages digikam depends on: ii kdelibs4c2a 4:3.5.1-2 core libraries for all KDE applica ii libacl1 2.2.36-1 Access control list shared library ii libart-2.0-2 2.3.17-1 Library of functions for 2D graphi ii libattr1 2.4.32-1 Extended attribute shared library ii libaudio2 1.7-6 The Network Audio System (NAS).
