Dear Maintainer,

Debian includes the package cowsay, but the upstream of the project has
been unavailable now for some time, with only an archive.org reference
available at https://packages.debian.org/bullseye/cowsay .

Looking around identified another repository maintained by apjanke, at
https://github.com/cowsay-org/cowsay . This repo appears to be a
continuation rather than a "competitive" fork of the original codebase,
maintained in the spirit of the original author, with some minor updates
such as the inclusion of some debian patches. I request that this
repository be considered as the new upstream of the Debian package.

I have spoken to apjanke who confirms the above, as well as a
willingness to continue in this role, and approval at being nominated as
the new upstream - I have included him as a cc in this bug.

Thanks for your continued support of Debian and for considering this
bug.
