Hello Miguel!
Thanks for the updated translation.
I have a few questions.
Please note that I do not speak Portuguese, hence I may be completely
off-track. Please bear with me!
First question
==============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:66
msgid ""
" -F : Automatically pin all buggy packages.\n"
msgstr ""
" -F : Fazer pin automaticamente a todos os pacotes com bugs.\n"
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:67
msgid ""
" -N : Never automatically pin packages.\n"
msgstr ""
" -N : Nunca fazer pin automaticamente a pacotes.\n"
The word "pin" has been translated as "fixar" elsewhere: can we improve
consistency and use the same translation here, as well?
Would something like the following be OK?
" -F : Fixar automaticamente a todos os pacotes com bugs.\n"
" -N : Nunca fixar automaticamente a pacotes.\n"
Second question
===============
#. TRANSLATORS: %{plist} is a comma-separated list of %{npkgs} packages to be
pinned.
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:576 ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:655
msgid ""
"The following %{npkgs} package will be pinned:\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Are you sure?"
msgid_plural ""
"The following %{npkgs} packages will be pinned:\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Are you sure?"
msgstr[0] ""
"O seguinte %{npkgs} pacote será marcado como 'pinned':\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
msgstr[1] ""
"Os seguintes %{npkgs} pacotes serão marcados como 'pinned':\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
Same doubt here.
Would something like the following be OK?
msgstr[0] ""
"O seguinte %{npkgs} pacote será fixado:\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
msgstr[1] ""
"Os seguintes %{npkgs} pacotes serão fixados:\n"
" %{plist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
Third question
==============
#. TRANSLATORS: %{blist} is a comma-separated list of %{nbugs} bugs to be
dodged.
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:614
msgid ""
"The following %{nbugs} bug will be dodged:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Are you sure?"
msgid_plural ""
"The following %{nbugs} bugs will be dodged:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Are you sure?"
msgstr[0] ""
"Osi seguintes %{nbugs} serão evitados:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
msgstr[1] ""
"Os seguintes %{nbugs} serão esquivados:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
I have some doubts here: why is "dodged" translated with two different
words? If I understand an online dictionary correctly, they seem to be
synonyms, but I would choose one translation and use it consistently,
anyway...
Moreover, where is the word "bug" in the translation?
Finally, is the singular form really singular?
Would something like the following be OK?
msgstr[0] ""
"O seguinte %{nbugs} bug será evitado:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
msgstr[1] ""
"Os seguintes %{nbugs} bugs serão evitados:\n"
" %{blist}\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
Fourth question
===============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:664
msgid "All selected packages are already pinned. Ignoring %s command."
A ignorar o comando
%s."
Once again, would something like the following be OK?
msgstr "Todos os pacotes já estão fixados. A ignorar o comando %s."
Fifth question
==============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:670
msgid "There are no dodge/pin/ignore operations to undo. Ignoring %s command."
msgstr "Não existem operações dodge/pin/ignore para desfazer. A ignorar o
comando %s."
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:672
msgid ""
"All the dodge/pin/ignore operations will be undone.\n"
"Are you sure?"
msgstr ""
"Todas as operações dodge/pin/ignore serão desfeitas.\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
Since "dodge" has been translated as "evitar", "pin" as "fixar", and
"ignore" as "ignorar", it would perhaps be better to also translate
these words here.
Would something like the following be OK?
A ignorar
o comando %s."
msgstr ""
"Todas as operações de evitar/fixar/ignorar serão desfeitas.\n"
"Tem a certeza?"
Sixth question
==============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:685
msgid ""
" y - continue the APT installation.\n"
msgstr ""
" y - contar a instalação do APT.\n"
Is "contar" the correct translation for "continue"?
Would something like the following be better?
" y - continuar a instalação do APT.\n"
Seventh question
================
#. TRANSLATORS: %{prog} is the name of a program, %{user} is a user name.
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:692
msgid ""
" <num> - query the specified bug number\n"
" (uses %{prog} as user %{user}).\n"
msgstr ""
" <num> - consultar o número de bug especificado\n"
" (utilizar %{prog} como utilizador %{user}).\n"
Why has "uses" been translated as "utilizar" (infinitive?)?
It used to be "utiliza" in the previous translation and elsewhere.
Should I revert to the following?
" <num> - consultar o número de bug especificado\n"
" (utiliza %{prog} como utilizador %{user}).\n"
Eighth question
===============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:707
msgid ""
" d <num>.. - dodge bugs <num> by pinning affected pkgs\n"
" (restart APT session to enable).\n"
msgstr ""
" d <num>.. - evitar <num> bugs ao fazer pin aos pacotes afetados\n"
" (reiniciar a sessão APT para activar).\n"
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:708
msgid ""
" d b<id>.. - dodge bugs identified by <id> by pinning affected pkgs\n"
" (restart APT session to enable).\n"
msgstr ""
" d b<id>.. - evitar bugs identificados por <id> ao fazer pin aos pacotes\n"
" afectados\n"
" (reiniciar a sessão APT para activar).\n"
Same doubt about "pin".
Moreover, I am surprised by the ordering of "<num> bugs": I would
expect "bugs <num>", since <num> stands for bug numbers, such as bug
#974762.
Finally, is "affected" to be translated as "afetados" or "afectados"?
Would something like the following be OK?
" d <num>.. - evitar bugs <num> ao fixar os pacotes afectados\n"
" (reiniciar a sessão APT para activar).\n"
" d b<id>.. - evitar bugs identificados por <id> ao fixar os pacotes\n"
" afectados\n"
" (reiniciar a sessão APT para activar).\n"
Ninth question
==============
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:714
msgid ""
" u - undo all the dodge/pin/ignore operations done so far.\n"
msgstr ""
" u - desfazer todas as operações dodge/pin/ignore feitas até agora.\n"
Same doubt, would something like the following be OK?
" u - desfazer todas as operações de evitar/fixar/ignorar feitas\n"
" até agora.\n"
Tenth question
==============
#. TRANSLATORS: %{packgl} is a list of packages.
#: ../lib/aptlistbugs/logic.rb:780
msgid "%{packgl} will be pinned. Restart APT session to enable"
msgstr "Será feito pin ao pacote %{packgl}. Reiniciar a sessão APT para ativar"
Same doubt about "pinned".
Moreover, %{packgl} is a list of packages: is "Será" and "pacote"
suitable for a list of more than one package?
Is "ativar" a synonym of "activar"?
Would it be better to have more consistency?
Would something like the following be OK?
msgstr "Os pacotes %{packgl} serão fixados. Reiniciar a sessão APT para activar"
Please tell how I can modify these strings.
Thanks for your helpfulness!
