Issue solved.
I just removed the Spanish Language Pack from Tools->Addons (it said:
not compatible pack with Thundrbird version 78) and restarted
Thunderbird. It works now.

you can use both, the BTS system is based on email and the bts or
reportbug helper are "just" creating emails. If you want to use any type
of MUA you are free to select the one you prefer to use.
I have no other localization package and this change of behaviour

A shorter way to see all LANG environments is simply call 'locale' on

Of course not, these packages are spell checker, not localization's.
All you probably need to do is to remove any in your profile *local!*
installed language package and restart Thunderbird! (As written
