Hi Mike, I reported problems with webRTC above (related or not with the 'microphone'-issue at hand). However, somehow the problem has disappeared here after one of the many upgrades (not the firefox-esr package). I tried to figure out the package that made the difference, but there where to many changes. So for me, anything works fine again.
