Yes, it definitely looks like one of those problems with PS.
Actually, if it works with anti-aliasing off and you get different
behaviour on different installations, it's probably a problem of
different versions of ghostscript behaving differently wrt. caching
bitmaps etc. - really a can of worms. There's a *lot* of bugs like
these, and there are no good fixes for most of them. (A few hacks in
xdvik try to deal with some of these problems, but they don't work
very reliably).

That's why we have the warning about raw postscript commands not being
displayed correctly ;-(
