Hi, I'm trying to get dmix to work on my ICE1724 soundcard in an amd64 system. dmix works with kernel 2.6.16 and libasound2 1.0.10+1.0.11rc3-1 in a i386 chroot. The amd64 system only has version 1.0.11rc2-1, which does not work, because the newer one is not available. Therefore I tried to compile version 1.0.10+1.0.11rc3-1 from sources with this command: fakeroot apt-get -b source libasound2 The compilation almost crashed my system by starting an enormous amount of libtool.sh processes.
