I'm currently co-maintaining this package with Micah, and so I have fixed your bug. Unfortunately, as we just had a release, and we're currently working on a new upstream version, this fix may not get uploaded for a bit. You may want to recommend to the user (if you haven't already) to upgrade bittornado-gui to match versions with bittornado. Anything in 0.3.13-* should work fine.
