What I meant is: I first tried "a4" (i.e. not changing the current setting), but it did not change anything: I still had a mix of a4 and letter. Then I chose "letter", and I got the choice of what to affect (pdftex, dvips, dvipdfmx, xdvi); I let the 4 programs checked (default), and everything was set to letter. Then I chose "a4", and everything was set to a4 (I no longer had to choose which programs to affect). > > Name: texlive-base/binary_chooser > > Template: texlive-base/binary_chooser > > +Value: pdftex, dvips, dvipdfmx, xdvi > > Owners: texlive-base > > +Flags: seen > > +Variables: > > + libpaperPaper = letter > > Interesting ... not that I really understand what was going on here. > > The libpaper1 texlive-base code checks > - whether the current settings for the four programs agree and agree > with the libpaper setting > - if this is the case, then set all programs to the new values > - if this is not the case > - ask a debconf question about which programs should be set to > the new paper size > > I can reproduce this on my computer, and the debconf actions are > correctly carried out. So hmmm - strange ... Indeed, this question occurred only when I had a mix of a4 and letter. -- Vincent Lefèvre <vinc...@vinc17.net> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon)
