Package: foomatic-filters-ppds Version: 20060318-1 Severity: important Tags: patch
Installing foomatic-filters-ppds does not place the PPDs in a location that is searched by CUPS. The filters do not show up in the CUPS driver list while installing a printer. I resolved the problem by adding a symlink: /usr/share/cups/model/foomatic to /usr/share/ppd/linuxprinting.org-gs-builtin which is where foomatic-filters-ppds installed all of its PPD files. I believe that this link should be installed by default if CUPS is already installed on the system. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-ihp Locale: LANG=en_US.ISO-8859-15, LC_CTYPE=en_US.ISO-8859-15 (charmap=ISO-8859-15) Versions of packages foomatic-filters-ppds depends on: ii foomatic-filters 3.0.2-20060318-1 linuxprinting.org printer support ii hplip-ppds 0.9.7-4 HP Linux Printing and Imaging - PP Versions of packages foomatic-filters-ppds recommends: ii cupsys 1.1.23-15 Common UNIX Printing System(tm) - -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
