Package: svn-buildpackage
Version: 0.5.12
Severity: wishlist

Hello,
I've recently had my first contact with svn-buildpackage and
immediately missed this from cvs-buildpackage:
conf_workdir The cvsâbuildpackage work directory. This directory
                  is where the original sources are expected, and this
                  is where the module shall be exported from CVS.

which I have set to
conf_rootdir=~/DEB
conf_workdir="${conf_rootdir}/$package"
with the upstream tarball of exim4 4.44 being available as
~/DEB/exim4/exim4_4.44.orig.tar.gz.

svn-buildpackage makes this too hard. There is no way to set a default
upstream-tarball-sources-directory.

Afaict I need to do this once for every source-package. (And redo it
if I start with a fresh svn-checkout):

Invoke svn-buildpackage once to generate a default .svn/deb-layout (it
will fail because it won't find the source), then I can edit
.svn/deb-layout and set origDir=/home/ametzler/DEB/exim4, and only
then it'll work.

I have not set my mind in stone on the
"somedirectory/sourcename/source_version.orig.tar.gz" layout I could
live with a flat directory containing all tarballs, too.
       thanks, cu andreas
