No joke...the communications breakdown that resulted from their timing was very unfortunate and could have been avoided by waiting until buster was released :-( > > Thank you for bringing this to my attention, as far as I know, Norbert > > I've contacted him using his other email address, to ask to use that > > address as maintainer. > > It is already used in the packages I published on my website, as well > as in the github repository which is the current correct and only > repository for packaging calibre. > > > Worst case scenario, what is the deadline to adopt Calibre? Sorry for contributing to the mess. I had understood that you weren't going to be active in Debian for a while. Is this email address now your preferred method of contact, or would you prefer using the gh issues tracker? Yes of course, I'd be happy to let you know before uploading :-) It would have been nice to have received notification of the new project location...but at any rate, for the purposes of reintegrating these repos I've pushed the relevant branches and tags here: https://github.com/sten0/calibre Would you like to work on the integration or shall I? No idea about the pristine-tar branch, btw, because it should output an orig.tarball for 3.39.1 that matches what's in the archive... Maybe this can be most easily solved with 3.39.1+dfsg+fixedtarball-1 ? Also, at the moment are you able to dput the next upload of Calibre, or will I need to? > And no, the package is not orphaned, so don't adopt it. Understood. More accurately I meant "interim maintainer, in name only, for the purposes of this RC bug, until Norbert returns" and planned to add a comment to that effect to d/control as a worst-case scenario. Sincerely, Nicholas
