Package: debconf
Version: 1.4.71
Severity: normal

During a normal upgrade, debconf (apparently) spits out enormous
quantities of warnings like the following:

Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54.
Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54.
Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60.
Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers at
/usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60.

They occur in quantities sufficient to obscure the real output.

[I dunno, maybe this is perl's fault -- I've noticed a tendency among
perl packages to be far too eager to spit out warnings at runtime
which are not horribly useful to the typical end user.]

Thanks,

-Miles
