Package: debconf Version: 1.4.71 Severity: normal
During a normal upgrade, debconf (apparently) spits out enormous quantities of warnings like the following: Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54. Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 54. Gdk-WARNING **: locale not supported by Xlib at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60. Gdk-WARNING **: cannot set locale modifiers at /usr/share/perl5/Debconf/FrontEnd/Gnome.pm line 60. They occur in quantities sufficient to obscure the real output. [I dunno, maybe this is perl's fault -- I've noticed a tendency among perl packages to be far too eager to spit out warnings at runtime which are not horribly useful to the typical end user.] Thanks, -Miles -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (101, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-686 Locale: LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=ja_JP.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages debconf depends on: ii debconf-i18n 1.4.71 full internationalization support ii perl-base 5.8.8-3 The Pathologically Eclectic Rubbis Versions of packages debconf recommends: ii apt-utils 0.6.43.3 APT utility programs -- debconf information: debconf-apt-progress/preparing: debconf-apt-progress/title: debconf-apt-progress/info: * debconf/frontend: Gnome * debconf/priority: medium -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
