Thanks for your reply, and sorry I missed the archived bugs on this
topic. I'm not sure yet that I fully understand the problems, but
perhaps the situation is slightly different now in that the browser is
being launched with xdg-open rather than sensible-browser? I'll have a
look soon and see what I can find out.
A similar bug browsing menu in reportbugs's text UI works fine,
including the 'b' action to launch a browser, since it's run as a normal
user.
Actually, the menu you were seeing (the one with "I'm bored; quit
please") comes from the querybts command (part of package "reportbug").
When you enter "b1", apt-listbugs launches querybts and passes control
to it.
