  Hm, do I need to modify more Makefiles?  If I just blow away
doc/fr/aptitude.xml, the build fails:

make[4]: *** No rule to make target `aptitude.xml', needed by `aptitude.fr.8'.  
Stop.

  I don't see where the new aptitude.xml is going, either.
