thanks

Hello,

I raised this issue on the heimdal-discuss mailing list and
was I asked:

Brian> Is anyone here familiar with zephyr, or if it is
Brian> feasible/practical/desirable to get it working with Heimdal
    Brian> 0.7.2 libraries?

I got the following response:

Johan> Not really, unless you add a lot of code. Zephyr is very
    Johan> much relying on krb4. I believe there's krb5 support for
Johan> cross (zephyr-) realm communication, but nothing for the
Johan> clients as far as I know.

Johan> Not that I dislike zephyr, but I think it's time to retire
    Johan> it.

Johan> Probably 99.9% are already using some other IM system
    Johan> anyway.

As such, it would appear not possible to get zephyr working without
having Heimdal compile against kerberos4kth, but I am not going to do
this again as:

* kerberos4kth is no longer maintained, not upstream or in Debian.

* I have lost contact with the kerberos4kth maintainer.

* krb4 has numerous security problems.

* It is very messy as each package comes with conflicting libraries.

* I was asked to drop krb4 support in bug #315059.

I suspect this isn't the response you were hoping for. I apologise for
any inconvenience.

PS: please note the change in the bug id.
