This applies to both: ifup is started from sysvinit during boot
(on an “auto” interface), and, starting it manually, either from
the Linux text console, or uxterm, both with or without GNU screen,
by “sudo ifup wlan0=tarent-lan” (or similar), although I haven’t
tested all of the combinations right now. I know that I can’t ^C
it at system start and in at least one of the four combinations.
