But you have two cases: remove and purge. In beginning of packaging
bootchart I had a discussion about this topic on users-german. The
opinion was that removal of log files should happen with purge. The
system should look the same before installation and after purge.

If you install rotation of the logfiles it would not take place after the
package is purged.

My opinion is the purge of a package should remove the log files, but its
your decision.
