Dear Maintainer,

I upgraded to debian buster and several of my applications no longer show up in the system tray. I am using xfce4. The only package on my system that depends on libayatana-appindicator3-1 is remmina.

Applications which do show up in the system tray with libayatana-appindicator3-1 installed:
wicd
slack
alltray running thunderbird

Applications which do not show up in the system tray with libayatana-appindicator3-1 installed:
remmina
autokey
blueman-applet

Workaround:
I have found that I remove these two libraries before X starts
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libayatana-appindicator3.so.1
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libayatana-appindicator3.so.1.0.0
and then copy them back into place before starting remmina then everything works correctly. If those libraries are in place when X starts then system tray will not work for multiple applications (including remmina). I modified /etc/X11/Xsession to sudo rm those files and then as part of the autostart for remmina I copy the files back.

Thanks,
David T.

I am currently looking into your issue. What XFCE4 plugin do you use for getting indicator icons rendered?

My guess is xfce4-indicator-plugin. Is that so? Before I debug stuff that is irrelevent to this report.

Thanks,
Mike
