Actually, I think this should only be a problem when somebody tries to use the 'levy' greek fonts. I ran into this while using ibycus (based on the levy fonts), but that was due to a configuration error on my side. I don't know how often these levy fonts are used today. So maybe it would be enough to document some workaround (I linked the right x.mf into the working directory). Does this other x.mf exist in TeX Live, too?
