Indeed, hi Luca :-) On the Ubuntu Side I couldn't wait so I already did some work and you can take a look what of that you want to pick up. This [1] includes suggested changes in this and other Debian bugs, as well as myself adding a autopkgtest case. In fact the latter already has a follow on fix in queue to make it work on non x86 [2].
