- From the nslu2-linux project. It is now also included in the
OpenEmbedded source tree.

Apparently it does work for the author of that page. I don't know why it
works for him but not for me, but will make some more tests. (Perhaps my
USB enclosure doesn't support spindown.)

The client programs he used (from the group's Yahoo pages) appear to be
built from Debian sources without significant patches. I am mirroring
the files here:
