Sounds like a debconf question to me...

I'd be happy with you considering my request and doing whatever you
deem appropriate. However, I do like the "pre-warning" of when an
attribute's value approaches the threshold. I think we should ask
upstream to add such a feature. E.g. if THRESH is 40 and the value
reaches 40+d with a tendency to further decrease, special warnings
should be issues to the log and possibly spat out by email.
