@christian.ehrha...@canonical.com To make sure that only the difference in upstream sources can explain the different behavior (instead of the different gbp version for instance), I followed all your steps and the build is OK on my machine too. We can rule out gbp as the source of this issue but not the issue itself as your workflow does not rely completely on gbp. As previously noted, *something is wrong with the upstream branch* of the git://anonscm.debian.org/pkg-qemu/qemu.git repo. I'm glad we could narrow down the source of the problem with your help.
