Package: hplip Version: 0.9.7-4 Upon startup of hpiod, either by hplip or from the command line, it crashes with the message "can't open or create : No such file or directory io/hpiod/hpiod.cpp 195". The crash immediately shuts down the program and prevents any inputs or command line options from displaying. The package is newly installed on a Debian Sid system, and overwrote an old version (Feburary 2005) downloaded from HP's website. I have the Debian CUPS package installed, and an HP Deskjet 3845 printer. I have kernel version 2.6.15-1 from package linux-image-2.6.15-1-k7 and libc version 2.3.5.
I traced the file and line mentioned in the crash message to an fprintf statement in the package source, which prints the message. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
