If I understand correctly - I'm not into Python -, https://bugs.debian.org/844441 is about it, but the deadline for an upload passed more than two weeks ago. So I guess that's it for stretch :-/ Only thing that still could save the show was to disable the code that uses this library, then do a fresh upload. Probably even more ugly than it sounds.
