If you only have e.g. chocolate-heretic installed, but not chocolate-doom, you will not take part in the transition. Fortunately, all packages have a hard dependency on chocolate-common, so it might be sufficient to keep this as a transitional dummy package that depends on the new-enough chocolate-doom package. - Fabian
