Package: compiz Version: 1:0.9.13.0+16.10.20160818.2-2 Severity: important Hi! First, great thanks for your work bringing Compiz back to Debian! As a long time user, first with GNOME2 then XFCE, long after Compiz got removed from Debian (until it was no longer feasible to keep it working with modest amounts of work), it's great to see your efforts.
However, nothing of compiz' functionality appears to work for me: it doesn't respond to any commands, windows don't get title bar/buttons/decoration (even after manual gtk-window-decorator --replace), etc. I've tried on real metal (nvidia proprietary) on XFCE, nuking my (extensive) config doesn't help; in a fresh qemu (qxl) virtual machine on XFCE and MATE. On the other hand, unofficial packages from http://download.tuxfamily.org/compiz/debian do work as expected. -- System Information: Debian Release: stretch/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (150, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.9.0+ (SMP w/6 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=C.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=C.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: sysvinit (via /sbin/init) Versions of packages compiz depends on: ii compiz-core 1:0.9.13.0+16.10.20160818.2-2 ii compiz-gnome 1:0.9.13.0+16.10.20160818.2-2 ii compiz-plugins-default 1:0.9.13.0+16.10.20160818.2-2 compiz recommends no packages. compiz suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
