Okay. Upstream will ask how the patch works, of course, especially since the patch serializes existing data structures. I will be able to answer upstream better once I can show minimally working code. Therefore, let me hack some more, after which I will seek feedback and hints on bug-wget as you advise, within the next 30 days. Thanks! I will keep you apprised here. Obviously, this bug will be for stretch+1 == buster. As far as I know, there is nothing to do for stretch.
