My strong advise is to contact the upstream mailinglist were you will get the best feedback regarding patches and hints for integration. The upstream maintainer switched since 2010 and other developer are very active on the mailinglist. https://lists.gnu.org/mailman/listinfo/bug-wget Regards Noël
