Those warnings above are all not the cause of the crash...

Strange, the default config is "autovideosink" not "gconfvideosink". Could you
check the setting of "video-sink" in the config file

~/.config/subtitleeditor/default/config ?

It should be (the default)

video-sink=autovideosink

Please change it to the default value (or just delete ~/.config/subtitleeditor)
and try again.
