Package: git-buildpackage
Version: 0.8.4
Severity: normal

Hello,

I have the following values in my gbp.conf:

    [DEFAULT]
    ...
    export-dir = ~/devel/debian/build-area
    tarball-dir = ~/devel/debian/build-area

However when building a package I now get:

     % gbp buildpackage --git-ignore-branch --git-verbose
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'rev-parse', '--show-cdup']
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'rev-parse', '--is-bare-repository']
    gbp:debug: true [] []
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'status', '--porcelain']
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'symbolic-ref', 'HEAD']
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'show-ref', 'refs/heads/local']
gbp:debug: ['git', 'rev-parse', '--quiet', '--verify', 'HEAD']
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'ls-tree', 'HEAD']
    gbp:debug: ['git', 'show', '--pretty=medium', 'HEAD:debian/changelog']
    gbp:error: Cannot create output dir
/home/ghedo/devel/debian/chromium-browser/~/devel/debian/build-area

as you can see the '~' expansion isn't working anymore. Downgrading to 0.8.3
"fixes" the problem.

Cheers
