In general you are right, but in this case upstream and Debian maintainers seems to be the same people, and they acked the other NMUs in a matter of minutes. https://github.com/Yubico/libu2f-host-dpkg/issues/2 they were aware of the ongoing NMU since 9 days, and this is the 3th NMU that goes in unstable. they are lacking of time to fix RC bugs, so I guess NMUs are welcome (as they are for libu2f-server, same upstream) e.g. #820686 #815413 where they did not answer or answer after months. sometimes speeding up things doesn't hurt too much :) (I don't want to start a ware, I would have sponsored on deferred/5 myself, or something like that) Gianfranco
