i'm not shure since when this is the case, but there is definitly a
ip2100 and a ieee80211 option in the kernel...and yes i had problems
once compiling the external modules when it was enabled, but since i
build my own kernels, i just disabled it in the kernel...now it works
(ok, im 2.6.14.3...but thats another issue)
