Hi, thanks for getting back in touch. I'm hoping to carry this patch in the next smartmontools upload. Somebody needs to refresh it as ~50% of the hunks no longer apply to the current smartd.conf.5.
I realise this might sound cheeky since you had 0 response to your patch for years, but is that something you would be prepared to take a look at? It would be a great help, I'm currently looking at some bugs in the init and systemd unit scripts. All I can say is if you do it, I am definitely going to carry the patch.
