Thanks for replying. I'm only including the updated dictionary text file, the code (i.e. the ding program and all other files) is unchanged - so will still be from the stable release. I think it makes sense to keep updating the dictionary file, even if the ding code is unchanged. Otherwise many new translations and fixes for existing ones will never see the light of day through ding. Also, that de-en-devel/ directory on the FTP site only contains dictionary file updates - no code updates for ding. > >> I've also been in contact with Frank Richter, who runs the project >> at TU Chemnitz, and he's updated the dictionary file at the above >> link to have the latest from the project (as of 11 Jan 2016). > Do you know why he differentiates between "de-en" and "de-en-devel" > directories, if both are stable? For me this means, that the devel > version is not ready for production... I think the 'de-en-devel' is only for the dictionary text file, not the code, and so shouldn't really affect stability. I can email him again and ask him why he organises it like that. >> I've now uploaded an updated set of ding packages (ding, trans-de-en, >> dict-de-en) to the ftp-master: >> gpg: Good signature from "Tim Edwards <timedwa...@fastmail.com.au>" >> Good signature on /home/tim/devel/trans-de-en/ding-1.8/ding_1.8-4.dsc. >> Uploading to ftp-master [DELAYED/14] (via ftp to ftp.upload.debian.org): >> Uploading ding_1.8-4.dsc: do >> Uploading ding_1.8-4.debian.tar.xz: done. >> Uploading dict-de-en_1.8-4_all.deb: done. >> Uploading ding_1.8-4_all.deb: done. >> Uploading trans-de-en_1.8-4_all.deb: done. >> Uploading ding_1.8-4_amd64.changes: done. >> Successfully uploaded packages. >> >> I've put a delay of 14 days.
