"dpkg-source --commit" works, even if the patch is just the reverse of the
previous one
I am still confused though. The involuntary patching of the source
happened in the Debian packaging branch after merging the source for
v2.8. So, I still have the original upstream source for v2.8 untouched
in the pristine-tar branch.
So I am guessing this solution would not work, would it?
Do you mean something like "2.8+fixed", which would trigger a new source
tarball upload ?
yes I guess so, or maybe 2.8+ds is even better (ds stands for debian source, a
repack done not
because of dfsg files)
Sounds like the least painful option, don't you think? I guess I just
need to create a fake v2.8+ds1 tag, update the current changelog entry
to 2.8+ds1-1 and re-submit ?
