and extract patches with dpkg-sources 2) use a fake import of the correct upstream tarball (you need to tweak the orig source version)
Do you mean something like "2.8+fixed", which would trigger a new source tarball upload ?
Can't I just ask the FTP team to remove the buggy 2.8 version and start over otherwise?
