All of them, including gettext/0.19.3-2 in experimental have a
    Extra-Source-Only: yes
field.

This means that some package declares a Built-Using relentionship with
it, so that source must be keep around in the archive to comply with
GPL, etc...

For gettext the guilty package is mp4a.
