This amount of blurring doesn't seem like "wishlist". And according to the next comment in that bug, "The font looks the same regardless of the no_stem_darkening boolean value.". I also tried turning autohinting back on with 0.0.17, and it still provides a significant reduction in blurriness, though it doesn't perfectly snap stems to pixels. - Josh Triplett
