I think I pretty much understand what that is finally saying, for what it's worth. By the way, the Current status line seems to be only printed if something is being installed. Today because $ aptitude full-upgrade No packages will be installed, upgraded, or removed. 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 3 not upgraded. Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 0 B will be used. Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?] therefore I don't see it. So there is no way to check the Current status without having to install or remove packages probably.
