cross-gcc-dev in stable has a serious bug: (780583) which means that if your default shell is not bash (or zsh) it simply won't work. As Debian defaults to dash for sh this a real problem making the package broken for the majority of users. The fix is a trivial one-liner (patch attached) which is very safe and thus seems appropriate for a stable update. Cross-gcc-dev is the main way of getting cross-compilers in jessie (without using an external repo) as there are no actual pre-built cross-gcc binaries in the archive for that suite. So having it work without digigng through the BTS to find out why it is broken seems worthwhile. Attached is the proposed patch which I will upload to stable-proposed-updates if OKed. Can you confirm that the correct versionning is +deb8u3?
