The changes for this fix can be easily backported (same for #794686). However, the changes for fixing #759544 (the original reason for making a new jessie version) are a little more involved. The daemonizing code in 0.9.5 has seen much more testing than that of a patched 0.9.4 version. Anyway, I'll see if I can ping the release team again.
